Phosphorus Specialties
Cytec offers a comprehensive range of products derived from Phosphorus trichloride which have found use in a diverse range of applications across the broad spectrum of specialties, fine chemicals and pharmaceuticals. Cytec's chlorophosphates like diethyl chlorophosphate (DECP) and diphenyl chlorophosphate (DPCP) are widely used in the fine chemical & pharmaceutical industry to facilitate a number of organic transformations and coupling reactions. DPC and its ethoxylated derivative (EDPP) have been use in the synthesis of statins used for reduction of cholesterol levels. Our phosphonates such as diethyl cyanomethylphosphonate (DECMP) are often used in Horner Emmons Wadsworth reactions (HEW) and impart key fragments to the final active pharmaceutical ingredient. Other phosphonates like trimethyl phosphonoacetate (TMPA) and triethyl phosphonoformate (TEPF) are also available upon request. Cytec has also under development phosphonates, phosphites and phosphates which serve as phosphorylating agents in a number of therapeutic areas within the pharmaceutical industry.
The bisphosphonate tetraisopropyl methylenediphosphonate (TIPMDP) has been a longstanding critical intermediate in the synthesis of APIs for the treatment of bone diseases. Triisopropyl phosphite (TIPP) is available as a raw material in the formation of phosphonates or as a potential reducing agent in organic synthesis.
