Energy curing is a widely used technology within this industrial coating segment due to its performance advantages and environmental benefits for coaters and end-users.

Cytec’s UV/EB curing resins and additives for the wood & paper segment are mainly targeted to the flooring, joinery and furniture industry including panels and laminates.

To further grow this segment Cytec has recently developed new water-based UV technologies including novel UV curable polyurethane dispersions.  These systems are specifically designed for spray coating of high-end furniture and cabinetry applications.

Cytec’s Liquid coating resins and additives provide products for a wide range of industrial and consumer wood coatings. Cytec is the global leader in crosslinkers for high performance, two package solvent-based and water-based industrial wood coatings. These products provide a premium in appearance and performance for topcoats used on kitchen cabinets, office furniture, furniture foils and specialty paper.  New water-based resins in development will provide improvements in resistance properties over current water-based systems for flat stock and cabinets. We offer a range of products for low VOC outdoor and indoor wood coatings for the DIY (do-it-yourself) market and contractors. These are used on trim, flooring and various DIY projects.

New developments in Powder coating resins  are enabling Cytec to expand the reach of the technology to new substrates such as wood and wood-based panel. So-called low bake resins are used for surface finish on MDF for indoor applications such as kitchen cabinets and furniture. Development products including primers and super-durable topcoats are also available for outdoor applications on wood and engineered wood substrates such as house sidings, fences, and window frames.
