Alumina Refining
From bauxite handling aids to hydrate dewatering, Cytec technologies bring new efficiency to all aspects of Bayer process alumina production. In fact, we pioneered the development of hydroxamic acid flocculants, a quantum leap in flocculant technology for the clarification circuit, providing improved economics, liquor filtration rates and settler scaling. Our MAX HT™ sodalite scale inhibitor takes a revolutionary approach to prevent the costly problem of scale accumulation in heat exchangers.

Mineral Processing
Cytec’s development of new reagent technologies is changing the face of the minerals processing industry. Our Flotation Matrix 100® process provides the precision targeting of chemistries for increased recoveries, productivities and safety. With Cytec reagents, our customers have been able to attain an entirely new level of profitability. Recovering maximum value from your ore is our primary goal. Cytec has brought advanced tools for solving increasingly difficult problems to precious, base and industrial mineral operations. Cytec brings specialty collectors, frothers and modifiers, dewatering agents and antiscalants to provide plants with productivity and throughput. Other proprietary tools include diagnostic software, statistical process analysis and design, as well as specifically developed laboratory and field tests – many of which have become industry standards.

Solvent Extraction
Cytec provides several metal extraction technologies, including highly selective reagents and modifiers to provide plants with enhanced kinetics, productivity and throughput. Cytec currently has two distinct product families: our organophosphine based extractants offered under the trademark CYANEX®, and our hydroxyoxime extractants offered under the trademark ACORGA®. Our teams employ our proprietary tools including modeling software and statistical process analysis, as well as specifically developed laboratory and field tests in the process of optimizing your operations.
