Designed specifically for low temperature, vacuum-bag-only
curing, CYCOM 5215 modified epoxy resin is easy to use
and cost effective. It can be used on any tooling substrate
including low-cost materials such as wood and urethane
foam, making it particularly effective for use in rapid
prototyping. An initial 150° F 14-hour cure is followed
by a freestanding post-cure, which provides laminate
properties that are equivalent to autoclave-cured epoxies.

Cure properties of CYCOM
5215
When cured (or post
cured) at 250° F/121°C, CYCOM 5215 exhibits good mechanical
performance up to 230°F/110°C dry and 180°F/82°C wet.
When post-cured at 350°F/177°C CYCOM
5215 exhibits good mechanical performance up to 300°F/149°C
dry and 250°F/121°C wet.

5215 modified epoxy resin can be manufactured with various
carbon, glass and quartz fibers and tow types at customizable
areal weights. CYCOM
5215 is also available in slit tape form (.125" and
.182" widths), one-side-tacky form and various sheeted
sizes. |
