CYCOM
6001 is a 300-350°F (149-177°C) curing phenolic
resin. Service temperatures of up to 500°F/260°C can
be achieved with a post cure. The prepregs utilize glass
and carbon fabric reinforcement. The prepregs are available
in both a tacky and tack-free form.
CYCOM
6001 composites have low flammability and smoke generation,
and are recommended for aircraft interiors, ablative
and carbon/carbon applications. In ablative and carbon/carbon
applications, the material gives a high char yield.
The prepregs can be processed by press curing. Typical
cure cycle is C-19 using one hour at 300 psi and 320°F/160°C.
