The right combination for reliable high performance.

CONAP® EN-5800 series products feature UL Relative Temperature Index (RTI) of 130°C, a low durometer of shore A 85 hardness and UL 94 V-0 rating at 2.8mm thickness. The combination of these features enable excellent flame retardancy at lower material thickness and flexibility over a wide temperature range. The end result is reduced stress and a heat resistant environment for your electronic components. Our products also offer three different gel times for greater flexibility in processing requirements.

CONAP® EN-5800 series potting and encapsulation products provide flexibility, resiliency and thermal management for the following applications:

Power Management
Transformer units, switch gears and circuit breakers. Cytec's polyurethane potting compound is designed to help devices maintain their integrity and perform reliably even in extreme heat generated in high voltage environments. (inverters, electric motors for generators, transformer units, switch gears, circuit breakers and insulation components)

Automotive
Today's automotive equipment is powered through circuitries that are populated under the hood where excessive heat can build up and vibrations create an unstable platform. Cytec's polyurethane potting compound is designed to create a stable environment to withstand high temperatures without inducing stress on sensitive surface mount components. (engine control modules and vehicle electrical and electronics)

Photovoltaic
Solar micro inverters are exposed to extreme weather conditions outdoors, including heat and high winds. Cytec's polyurethane potting compound has been field tested with successful results, confirming its ability to maintain a stable platform even in high temperatures and vibrations. (solar inverters, wind turbine inverters and fuel cells)

Why is Thermal Aging Important?

Electronics are becoming smaller, thinner and more densely populated with heat-generating components. In addition, metals are replaced with plastics to achieve design freedom, reduce weight and improve corrosion resistance. The results of these trends are devices that use higher-wattage components and less heat conductive materials, leading to higher heat density in components.
