Job Description:
Cytec is currently recruiting for a an application specialist who will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering project solutions to specified requirements on schedule and within budget following organizational IT methodologies. The applicant must have a demonstrated track record for leading and delivering multiple assignments concurrently that will deliver customer valued solutions in the support of the R&D business function. The Application Specialist should have the ability to work independently, understand the relationship between technology & business and translate business requirements into viable project options.

Other responsibilities will include: Maintain high operational service levels for R&D systems; Collaborate with R&D clients during planning and deployment of global R&D systems; effectively communicate and work with internal (DBA and Infrastructure Team) and external (Vendor Support) resources in the support and maintenance of existing applications.

•Excellent verbal & written communication skills (French, Flemish or German is a plus).
•Proven organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
•Experience managing a complete SDLC. (Software Development Life Cycle)
•Minimum 5 years of experience with Microsoft Office development (VBA for Excel).
•Minimum 3 years of experience using Visual Studio 2005 in a VB.Net environment (ASP.Net and Window Forms). Hands-on experience using Visual Studio .NET 2008 and .NET Framework 3.5 is a plus.
•Strong knowledge of developing in a Microsoft SQL Server 2005 and/or Oracle 11G environment.
Hands-on experience with Oracle text a plus.
•Experience with Visual Studio Tools for Office (VSTO)
•Microsoft Share point development and administration is a plus
•Minimum 6 Years of experience in developing multi-tiered solutions
•Programming knowledge using the following languages/technologies: Java, Red Hat, Unix, Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services, Visual Source Safe, AJAX, HTML/DHTML
•Administrative knowledge of IIS and general knowledge of Windows Server 2003.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science.
Microsoft Certification is a plus.
