What is ISO?
ISO (International Organization for Standardization) is the world's largest developer of standards. Although ISO's principal activity is the development of technical standards, ISO standards also have important economic and social repercussions. ISO standards make a positive difference, not just to engineers and manufacturers for whom they solve basic problems in production and distribution, but to society as a whole.
ISO standards contribute to making the development, manufacturing and supply of products and services more efficient, safer and cleaner. They make trade between countries easier and fairer. They provide governments with a technical base for health, safety and environmental legislation. They aid in transferring technology to developing countries. ISO standards also serve to safeguard consumers, and users in general, of products and services - as well as to make their lives simpler.

What is RC14001®?
In 2002, the American Chemistry Council adopted a new management system approach for implementing Responsible Care® in the U.S., including mandatory independent third-party verification.
RC14001, a Responsible Care management system, offers an integrated, structured approach to drive results in seven key areas: community awareness and emergency response; security; distribution; employee health and safety; pollution prevention; process safety; and product stewardship.
For more information about RC14001® please visit the Responsible Care Web Site.
What is OHSAS 18001?
OHSAS 18001 was created via the concerted effort from a number of the worlds leading national standards bodies, certification bodies, and specialist consultancies. A main driver for this was to try to remove confusion in the workplace from the proliferation of certifiable Occupational Health and Safety (OH and S) Management System specifications.
For more information about OHSAS 18001 please visit the OHSAS 18001 Web Site.
What is AS9000/AS9100?
AS9000/AS9100, Aerospace Basic Quality System Standard was developed by the Society of Automotive Engineers. Based on ISO 9000 the intent is to standardize and streamline many of the other aerospace quality management standards.
For more information about AS9000/AS9100 please visit the Society of Automotive Engineers Web Site.
What is QS9000/TS16949?
QS 9000 was developed as a joint effort by the three largest automotive makers. It provides continual improvement, emphasizing defect prevention and the reduction of variation and waste in the supply chain. TS16949 applies to the design/development, production and, when relevant, installation and servicing of automotive-related products. It will eventually replace QS9000.
