| Cytec's overriding sales and marketing goal is
customer satisfaction. We concentrate on tracking
industry trends and understanding customer needs
in order to provide customers with the application
technologies they need to meet their operating and
marketing requirements. We deliver this technical
support through Cytec's well-trained technical sales
representatives, who are supported by networks of
specialists experienced in specific product applications
and industries.
Our sales and marketing professionals make valuable
contributions to Cytec's new product stream by
supplying front-line input to our applications-driven
research and development program.
As part of our focus on the customer, we're also
product stewards. All Cytec employees are accountable
for the responsible and ethical management of
the health, safety, and environmental aspects
of a product. In the field, we're involved with
how Cytec products are used by customers.
Few companies can match our record of successful
new products, most of which were developed to
help customers improve the performance of their
own products and processes.
Cytec's participation in over a dozen diverse
and growing markets presents a wide range of opportunities
for new employees. We are a leader in flocculant
technologies for water and waste treatment. We're
an established leader in specialized mineral processing
chemicals. We are the global, integrated leader
in melamine-based crosslinkers for coatings and
tire manufacture.
Cytec is an important supplier of polymer additives
used for UV light stabilization in plastics and
coatings. Our Company is a solid competitor in
niche surfactants and specialty monomer markets
such as emulsion polymerization. We lead in phosphines
derivatives technology and aerospace adhesives,
and we are one of the two leading products of
aerospace composites.
Cytec is also a major manufacturer of building
block chemicals, such as ammonia, acrylonitrile,
acrylamide, and melamine, many of which are used
as raw materials for the Company's specialty chemicals.
Cytec's field representatives are members of
one of the most highly respected sales and technical
organizations in the specialty chemicals industry.
Our sales and technical support personnel, representing
a wide range of disciplines, create the links
between the company and customers in many different
markets around the world. Cytec personnel are
highly attuned to customer needs across a variety
of dynamic and highly competitive marketplaces.
To strengthen customer links, Cytec field personnel
operate as members of cross-functional teams that
focus several disciplines on customer performance
or process problems. Solving these problems is
at the heart of Cytec's applications-driven, new
product development programs.
In-depth resources are available to all Cytec
employees. These begin with training which develops
your understanding of markets and trends within
those markets. Sales and marketing people at Cytec
quickly learn to understand customer perspectives
and needs as well as how to fulfill those needs.
Cytec emphasizes leadership. Therefore, continuing
training that strengthens personal and managerial
skills is part of a Cytec sales and marketing
career. Developing leadership skills is essential
to growing sales territories and building markets
that are the ultimate results of Cytec's passion
for the customer.
The challenges are there in a Cytec sales and
marketing career as well as the constant opportunity
for self-improvement- and for more responsibility
as your career develops. |

| Cytec is a research based company. Our scientists
concentrate their efforts in three areas: new product
discovery and development, applications technology,
and manufacturing process improvement. Our laboratories
combine polymer chemistry, organic sythesis, materials
science, chemical engineering, analytical chemistry
and other scientific disciplines to create the innovative
products and processes that provide Cytec's leadership
in markets around the world.
We have a long and distinguished history in basic
research. Cytec's research is directed toward
gaining greater understanding of molecular structures,
how their performance can be maximized in specific
customer applications, and how to engineer processes
that most efficiently manufacture these new chemistries.
Applied technology is a critical link between
Cytec and its customers and is a pervasive influence
throughout the Company. Cytec's central, regional,
and dedicated-industry-technical service laboratories
in the USA, Europe, Asia/Pacific, and Latin America
network with each other to provide applications
technology to customers on a local basis.
Research at Cytec often involves working closely
with customers' research groups through joint
technical development programs to fully understand
their applications, assure that they derive maximum
benefit from our technologies, and help them develop
new products and enter new markets.
Process research is an important aspect of Cytec's
technical program. Continuous improvement of Cytec's
manufacturing methods results in high-quality,
cost-effective products that are consistent with
the Chemical Manufacturers Association Responsible
Care program, while meeting customer needs.
Cytec maintains collaborative relationships with
the scientific community and universities and
exchanges knowledge and ideas throughout the Company
and within its major industries.
Research and technical development people also
play an important role in Cytec's company-wide
continuous improvement programs as well as in
the analysis of raw materials. Technical professionals
work in cross-functional teams with other Cytec
departments, such as manufacturing and marketing,
to review customers' process requirements and
to commercialize promising new chemistries. |

Cytec, whose pioneering work helped the CMA develop
Emergency Response and Incident Management (ERIM)
programs, is now at the industry's forefront in
safety procedures. ERIM includes cooperation with
the cities and towns where our plants are located
and encompasses the transportation of Cytec products.
We have been, and will continue to be, a good
community neighbor.
Cytec is a charter member of the Chemical Manufacturers
Association's (CMA) Responsible Care program.
That program promotes responsible management of
chemicals, especially as they relate to local
