Materials Forms New Industrial-Focused Commercial Team
Taps Company Veteran to Lead Efforts Into New Markets

Tempe, Ariz. - Cytec Engineered Materials (CEM), a business unit
of Cytec Industries Inc. (NYSE: CYT) has formed a new group to
address the growing need for advanced materials within the
industrial sector. The formation of this team is aligned with
CEM’s overall strategy to accelerate growth by leveraging
Cytec's competencies, product portfolio, market position and
global footprint to capture high-quality technology- and
performance-driven growth opportunities.
This new group, led by Steve Stone, Vice President, High
Performance Industrial Materials, provides an opportunity to
leverage the technologies of the Cytec portfolio across multiple
industrial markets, such as wind, alternative energy,
construction, marine and high performance automotive. Mr. Stone
has been with Cytec for 20 years, serving in positions of
increasingly greater responsibility in engineering,
manufacturing, sales and commercial management. He most recently
served as the Vice President, Performance Chemicals. He has
substantial experience with industrial businesses.
Industrial designers and engineers constantly face the challenge
of new applications that require weight, strength and cost
optimized products and materials. The rapid development in
alternative energy and other industrial markets is driving a new
demand for technology creators to construct and design these
applications.
“Customer needs and technology are bridging the aerospace and
industrial segments,” says Stone. “There is an increased use of
composites and adhesives in both markets and increasing demands
for technology and higher performance.” Stone adds. “We decided
to take advantage of the unique industrial technologies that
exist across Cytec and combine them into an integrated platform
that can service the industrial market. We feel our technologies
and focus will allow us to bring value to the customers in the
industrial market.”
The diverse product and service portfolio is comprised of unique
prepregs, resin infusion, adhesives and gelcoats/top coats
specifically focused on meeting the needs and escalating
performance requirements of the industrial sector.
