Architectural Coatings

Cytec offering includes resins for:

Trim paints (lacquer or enamel for metal & for interior / exterior wood substrates)
Cytec helps coating producers design high performance, low VOC wood coatings to meet the needs of both DIY enthusiasts and contractors. Example of solutions:

• RESYDROL^TM AZ 6185: Self-emulsified acryl- and urethane modified alkyd emulsion. Quick drying time associated with very high & quick hardness development. Single binder for interior usage or blending partner to boost initial performances such flow, early water resistance.
  
• RESYDROL AZ 6191: Self-emulsified acryl- and urethane modified alkyd emulsion. Excellent hardness and drying development. Can be used as single binder for indoor & outdoor application. Shear stable and very good yellowing resistance. High gloss & flow.
  
• DAOTAN^TM TW 5661: NMP free self-cross-linking hybrid polyurethane –acrylic resin dispersion designed as blending partner for interior & exterior trim paint with outstanding blocking and scratch resistance, very quick and high hardness development. No yellowing with excellent flow / hiding power.
  
• RESYDROL AY 6150: low VOC core-shell alkyd emulsion designed for wood & metal topcoats providing high gloss, fast drying coatings with very good balance of corrosion resistance and weathering.

Stain
Enhances wood appearance, preserves and protects exterior wood from water and UV Water repellency to avoid moisture damage.

• RESYDROL AY 6705 is a new generation of low particule size Acrylic modified alkyd resin combining excellent penetration and drying time. It offers extended durability to deckstains.

Wood impregnation
Cytec offers low VOC alkyd Emulsion & solution which allow deep & quick penetration in wood, good resistance to wash off with rain.

• RESYDROL VAL 5547w: Modified water soluble alkyd resin based on Linseed oil with very good penetration in wood .Supplied at 100%, doesn’t require any amine of neutralization and recommended for exotic wood.
  
• RESYDROL AY 586w: Linseed oil based, core-shell acrylic alkyd resin with very low particle size. Shear stable with good in can stability for formulations. Excellent resistance to wash off by rain or water. Doesn’t require coalescent solvent.

Concrete
Cytec offers acrylic emulsion polymers with excellent weathering properties & good color stability and flexibility for freeze/thaw resistance.

• UCECRYL^TM B 3021 & B 983 are low MFFT products that can be applied directly over fresh concrete and will block and stop efflorescence. They offer very low water uptake and excellent durability. They can be used indoor but also for façade application as primer over masonry structure.
  
• UCECRYL B 3025 offers excellent chemical resistance, quick drying time with fast hardness development. It also shows excellent hot & wet tire resistance on concrete.
  
• BECKOPOX^TM EP 2384w : Is a type 1 epoxy, VOC & benzyl alcohol free, quick drying time and shear stable.
  
• BECKOPOX EH 623 & 613 are amine hardeners designed for concrete application with excellent chemical resistance and hot tire resistance combined with good pot life.
  
• BECKOPOX VEH 2106 : is a specific hardeners which indicates pot life evolution in combination with above hardeners.

Primers

• DUROXYN VEF 2406w and DUROXYN EF 2107w – Cationic epoxy ester are the state of the art to provide solutions for stain Blocking and tannin resistance as Low VOC primers.

Varnish

• DAOTAN TW 6493 is solvent free PUD resin with very good abrasion resistance. Usable as 1K & 2K with all types of cross-linkers. The resin is transparent on wood.
• VIACRYL^TM VSC 6295 is a self-cross-linking acrylic usable alone or in combination with PUD resin for wood flooring with excellent chemical resistance and quick hardness development.
